As a Primordial, Nyx's personality isn't truly describable as it can differ according to the entity.
According to her family and children, Nyx displays a motherly personality. She is seen as warm, caring and just a person who you can let your guard down around. Like her husband, she cares for all things that come under her care, treating them as she would her own children even if they aren't her children as shown with her attitude towards Hades, Hecate and others.
Like her husband, Nyx holds completely amorality to any mortal being or race as their troubles and woes mean nothing to a primordial beings like herself. However, Nyx has been shown to hold great animosity for most of humanity, despising what they are and what they did to her and her family. It is said that during the Great Flood, Nyx watched with utter glee as humanity was destroyed by God but accepted the fact that a couple were able to survive. Like her husband, she holds a grudging respect for humans. Nyx admits that their tenacity is what allowed them to survive for so long and become numerous species, stating that if they didn't learn to band together, they would have been wiped out.

In the beginning there was nothing and then suddenly all came, being so different from nothingness, bothered him. The Nothing was Khaos and the All was God, the two of them waged a bloody war then to determine who would dominate the Void beyond all Voids. On his side, the Most High, also nicknamed The Shining, created four beings of immeasurable powers to help him. Khaos, on the other hand, created a legion of primordials, among them, the goddess of night Nyx and beside him, Erebus, the god of darkness, a pair of twins who helped Khaos in battles fought deep in the primeval pits. After the battle was over, Erebus and Nyx mated and had several children, among which were: Hypnos, Thanatos, Hemera, Apate, Clotho, Eris, among many other Primevals that make up the Greco-Roman pantheon.
Zeusβs fear for Nyx is apparent when Hypnos, her son and the god of sleep, told Hera that he was the one who put Zeus to sleep so that she can cause Heracles, who was returning from Troy, copious amounts of bad luck. In anger, Zeus wanted to smite Hypnos as punishment but the god fled to Nyx. Fearful of the primordial goddess, Zeus left Hypnos alone, thus allowing the god of sleep to avoid the lightning godβs wrath.
Nyx resided in Tartarus alongside her daughter, Hemera. As Hemera returned to her home at the end of the day, Nyx would leave the underworld and gather Erebus together. Then, the couple will bring nighttime upon the world. As nighttime drew to a close, Nyx will return to her home, allowing Hemera to scatter Erebus once more and make Aetherβs presence known, which will bring the day. Soon after, Eos, the goddess of dawn will arrive to give the gods a break.

Nyx, also known as Nox, is the Primordial goddess and personification of the night venerated by the Ancient Greeks and Romans.
|
|
Nyx is a member of the Protogenoi, the primordial gods worshiped in ancient Greece. Like all the other primordials, she was created by Khaos. She is so powerful and frightening that Zeus himself was terrified of her. A figure of shadows and darkness, Nyx was created by Khaos near the beginning of time. She did not intervene with physical matter much during ancient Greece, but they were enough to show that she possessed exceptional beauty and power to the point that even Zeus felt awe struck him when he saw her.
Through her marriage with Erebus, Nyx became the mother of Aether, god of light, and Hemera, goddess of the day. She later became the mother of many other gods, the most famous being Moros, god of doom, the Keres, gods of destruction, Thanatos, god of death, Hypnos, god of sleep, Oneiros, gods of dreams, Momus, god of blame, Oizys, goddess of misery, Charon, the ferryman of the dead, the Hesperdies, Keepers of the Golden Apples of Immortality, the Moirai, goddesses of fate, Nemesis, goddess of vengeance, Apate, goddess of deceit, Philotes, goddess of friendship, Geras, god of old age, and Eris, goddess of strife.
